VIKING ALUMNI SPIRIT SCHOLARSHIP

About the Scholarship

The Viking Alumni Spirit Scholarship was created by a dedicated group of Cadillac High School Class of 1979 alumni who share a common appreciation for the excellent start they received at CHS and a fondness for the Cadillac area. The scholarship honors the spirit of giving back — just as others helped us get started in life, this is our chance to be that someone for future CHS graduates.  In 2026, we were joined in the efforts by the class of 1963 to combine our funds and further our ability to provide scholarships going forward.

Scholarship Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership qualities in the classroom and/or community
• A written essay
• A grade point average of 2.5 or above

Selection Process

The Cadillac Area Community Foundation publicizes the scholarship application to school district counselors. Counselors direct eligible students to apply, and the scholarship committee — composed of 7 Alumni on the steering committee — reviews applicants and makes the final selection. Funds are distributed directly to the institution to which each student is accepted.
